Future Lawyer Scholarship 2027

2027 Future Lawyer Scholarship

The deadline for applications for the 2027 Future Lawyer Scholarship is December 1, 2027.

Springs Law Group is awarding a $5,000 scholarship to a current or future law student with a winning essay in our Future Lawyer Scholarship Essay Contest.

As a Colorado Springs personal injury law firm, we help injured victims and their families deal with the aftermath of an unforeseen accident. Standing beside people at the hardest moment of their lives is the most meaningful part of our work, and we know the legal system is only as good as the people who serve within it.

America’s justice system needs more lawyers who care about the person behind the case file. The purpose of our scholarship is to support a future lawyer who shows, through past and present accomplishments and planned future actions, a real commitment to helping others in need.

Future Lawyer Essay Theme

In an increasingly AI-driven world, how will you, as a future lawyer, maintain the human touch and provide a meaningful, personal experience for your clients?

This essay explores how future attorneys can embrace AI and technology while preserving the empathy, personal connection, and human judgment that distinguish great legal representation.

Application Requirements & Judging Criteria

To apply, submit the following:

  1. A brief introduction. Tell us who you are, what drives your interest in the law, and anything else we should know as it relates to the essay theme.
  2. An essay of 750 to 1,000 words responding to the Future Lawyer Essay Theme above.
  3. A professional resumé listing your past professional and academic experience.
  4. A transcript from your current school as proof of your GPA.

We will award the scholarship to the current or future law student who best demonstrates a real commitment to helping others in need. We’ll look for that commitment in your past and present accomplishments, your planned future actions, and the thoughtfulness of your essay on keeping the human touch alive in an AI-driven legal world.

Eligibility

To enter, you must be a legal US resident and one of the following: a current law student at an accredited US law school, or an undergraduate student who has applied or will apply to law school. Students with full academic scholarships are ineligible. Applicants must also hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

You must provide proof of enrollment. We accept digital scans for any of the following:

  • An unofficial transcript (finalists must later mail an unopened copy of their official transcript)
  • A letter from Admissions confirming your deposit, on school letterhead
  • An official enrollment verification form
  • An acceptance letter on school letterhead

You must also:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Future Lawyer Scholarship requirements
  • Submit one readable entry (one entry per student)
  • Submit a clear headshot, at least 300 pixels wide, in .PNG or .JPG format

Winner Notification & Award Distribution

We will notify the winner by phone, email and/or U.S. mail after judging is complete. The winner must provide proof of enrollment before the award is paid. We will disburse the award by January 15, 2027.

Use of Award Money

The winner understands and accepts that the scholarship money will be sent directly to the winner’s school and may be used only for tuition and education-related expenses.

Fine Print

All content and creative work submitted becomes the property of Springs Law Group and may be reposted or displayed online or through any media channel, in whole or in part, without notice. Springs Law Group and its agents may keep any communications you send us.

By applying, you give Springs Law Group and its agents permission to post your name, school or university, photo and winning entry on our website and on other marketing platforms, including blogs and social media. The winner also agrees to reasonably help with related promotional activities.

Applying for this scholarship does not create an attorney-client relationship, and the award is not tied to hiring Springs Law Group.

We encourage every applicant to be an agent for change in the lives of the people they will one day serve.
